SALE: Honouring The Few

£12.50

Honouring the Few tells the remarkable story of the Battle of Britain. "It was Germany's objective to win the war by invasion" wrote commander-in-chief RAF Fighter Command Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding, "and it was my job to prevent such an invasion from taking place. I had to do that by denying them control of the air." A salute to the pilots to whom so many owed so much, Honouring the Few tells the compelling story of the Battle of Britain, recapturing vividly the frenzied first-hand accounts of Dowding's "Fighter Boys". The book was updated in 2015 with a Foreword by Air Commodore Rich Peacock-Edwards CBE AFC, former Vice-Chair of the Royal Air Force Club, was published to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the battle. A struggle for air supremacy described by Lord Beaverbook, Minister of Aircraft Production, as "the greatest event in the war."
